Description
Martin’s latest release, recorded in 2019.
This double CD has only been available exclusively at Martin’s “Celebration of 50 years of Jethro Tull” concert tours. The tour and album were set up to celebrate Martin’s 50 year anniversary of the music and his career with Tull and now as a solo artist.
All the tracks have been re-recorded and some completely re-arranged to give a completely fresh and invigorated “take” on all these classic
tracks.
Disc One is the M.B. Band “live” in the studio, and Disc Two features the acoustic songs of Tull with a completely new approach.
The CD not only reflects the current tour programme, but summarises a unique 50 years of music on the road, and in the studio.

I’ve waited for this double CD quite a time, got nervous about it not being released, got it today and it was worth waiting for though on cd1 you can’t pick up the live-feeling! But Mr. Lancelot Barre and his band are playing their music in their young & fresh mood. They seem to be happy, I believe they are and that comes across.
As everybody knows by now the music on cd 1 is performed live (and more electric) versus cd 2 was recorded in the studio (and more acoustic). And this cd 2 carries the real surprises since we listen to female lead vocals (!) on real heavy Tull classics – even on the worldfamous Loco-Breath! Both CDs are recorded in an fantastic sound quite understandably the studio cd in an more complex and transparent way. By now I do have to admit my personal favourite is this cd 2 (maybe I’m getting older too – no no no, this can’t be the case). Young! That is the key word here. Mr. Barre and his band playing and performing the music from when they were very young. Mostly with standards from Stand Up, Living in the Past ans Aqualung when Tull was hip and in and very young! Great setlist on both CDs. Great Tull record for a long time. Please keep on going like that. One sad aspect is to it: MLB did take this step to a personal solo career hopefully not too late.
All the bst to you all guys & girls from Berlin

I have been a Tull fan since I saw Thick is a Brick in San Diego in 1972.
I have seen the Martin Barre Band 5 times in recent years live, each performance unique and truly fantastic in the small venues they play today.
The first CD is more of his previous CD, Live at the Factory Undergound which I gave a 5 star review you can read on Amazon. Excellent!
Now CD Number 2 a studio recording blew me away, light musical arrangements of Tull classics, but what stands out is the vocalist I have not heard before, that being Becca Langsford. Special kudos to Dan Crips for his vocals on “Still Loving You Tonight” Oh yes Alan Thompson and others a big thumbs up.
Ah yes, Well Done Mr Barre and Company

Great job, Mr. Barre and band! The music of Jethro Tull sounds very fresh. I’ve missed that for so long: these surprisingly new arrangements that were always part of a good Jethro Tull concert back then. It is a great pleasure to hear the songs like this. I saw you in NY at the Iridium this year. You could feel that you really enjoyed it on stage. Bruce Willis was obviously having fun too. ? The cd has a great sound. I especially like the singing of the two girls and Martin is very creative on his electric guitar. Darby on drums is great. I’m looking forward to seeing you live in Germany soon.

Great CD – worth every penny. The new “twists” of old classics – and a few rarities – is great.
If you get a chance to see Martin on tour …. DO IT. Great show – lots of energy.
